❤️ A Danish Christmas tradition with heart
Folding paper hearts is a much-loved Danish Christmas tradition – full of coziness, creativity, and care.
Each heart is unique, and making them by hand is a lovely way to spend time with people you care about.
This guide shows you how to make your own paper heart. All you need is some paper, a pair of scissors, and a little patience.
✂️ How to fold a paper heart – step by step
- Cut two identical pieces of paper – ideally in different colors
- Fold both pieces in half
- Round off the tops to create two “half-heart” shapes
- Cut 3–4 straight lines up from the fold toward the curve
- Weave the strips over and under – alternating until the heart is formed
- Open it gently – and voilà! You’ve made a Danish paper heart
